C. Derek Campbell is the Executive Chairman of AlphaSierra Group, which advises and invests across Energy, Natural Resource, and Infrastructure value-chains in the Emerging and Frontier markets – with an emphasis in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In addition to leading AlphaSierra, Derek is also the Executive Chairman of African Metals Group, Ltd., a management and holding platform that invests in Strategic Metals, Critical Minerals, and Rare Earth Elements that support global Energy Transition as well as consolidated Gold assets in support of sustainable Gold supply chains.

Derek is a regular on the international Oil & Gas/Energy lecture circuit, speaking as an authority on topics such as Energy Security and Extractive Industry geo-political market dynamics in Africa. He is currently a Distinguished Fellow with the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils. Derek is also a principal committee member on the U.S. EXIM Bank’s 2020-21 Sub-Saharan Africa Advisory Committee. Derek is also an Advisory Board Member of the African Energy Chamber, where he sits on the premiere U.S.-Africa Energy Subcommittee. Additionally, Derek served as a Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
