Engr. IRENE NKEM ETIOBHIO, is a Senior Petroleum Industry Analyst with the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), she is a B.Eng holder in PetroleumEngineering from the University of Benin Edo State Nigeria, With Masters degree In Petroleum Economics And Management at The France Institute Of Petroleum (IFP) paris, France, she also holds a Masters degree from the University of Lagos, Lagos State Nigeria. She has over 17 Years work experience with 15years of those in the Oil And Gas sector specifically with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), this entails over 10 years’ experience in oil and gas contract evaluation and negotiations, Reservoir engineering and field operations supervision. Federal oil production supervision amongst others. Over the years she has carried out several research studies including Global Methane emissions and Mitigation, Recent divestment and Diversification in the oil and gas industry, Global Reserves Assessment and Update, and most recently The Long Term Energy Perspective for Africa. She has attended several courses/Trainings both locally and internationally most notably is the United Nation Academy on Achieving Sustainable developmentGoals by Jefrey Sachs the former senior adviser to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. She is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Engr. Irene, is one of the Directors of an NGO (Girls Inspired Africa Network) an organization that inspires and equip young African girls and women to succeed by investing in their development, using education, innovation, technology and advocacy to improve their economic outcome and creating female leaders.
